Delivery Policy

STOCK AVAILABILITY & INVOICING
African Book Connection (“ABC”) strives to display accurate stock levels on our website. However, variances can occur. After you place an order and payment reflects in our bank account, we will email an invoice confirming items that are in stock and those that are out of stock.
- Local out-of-stock items: typically available within 6–8 working days from South African suppliers.
- Imported out-of-stock items: typically available within 6–8 weeks.
- Lead times are communicated on a book-by-book basis on your invoice and may extend during year-end peak periods.
ABC reserves the right to withhold order processing until payment has cleared.
ORDER PROCESSING & DISPATCH
- Standard period: Orders dispatch within 2–5 working days after payment reflects.
- Peak period (Dec–Feb): Processing may extend to 5–10 working days.
DELIVERY OPTIONS & FEES (SOUTH AFRICA)
We use Courier Guy for door-to-door delivery nationwide.

Outlying/remote areas may take longer and/or attract a surcharge. We will notify you before dispatch if applicable.
Tracking: A tracking number will be sent to your contact details once the parcel is collected.
CLICK & COLLECT (EAST LONDON)
Collection is available from 12 Scherwitz Road, Berea, East London. You will receive an email when your order is ready for collection.
Unpaid collection orders are held for 48 hours after the “ready for collection” email. Thereafter, stock will be released and may need to be reordered.
SPLIT SHIPMENTS & BACKORDERS
To avoid delay, ABC may part-ship available items and follow with backordered items when they arrive. Any additional delivery timing will be shown on your invoice or communicated by our team.
RISK & OWNERSHIP
Ownership of goods passes to the buyer when the order leaves ABC’s premises in East London. To the extent permitted by law, ABC is not liable for delays, loss, or non-delivery by third-party couriers once dispatched. Please use your tracking number to follow delivery progress and contact us if you need assistance.
ADDRESSES & DELIVERY ATTEMPTS
- Please ensure your delivery address and contact details are accurate and accessible during business hours.
- Additional charges may apply for incorrect addresses, re-delivery, or remote-area surcharges.
- P.O. Boxes are not accepted for courier delivery.
PEAK PERIODS
During December–February, supplier lead times and courier transit times may extend. We will keep you informed of material changes.
